Need Support with Anxiety?

You might not have heard this before, but some anxiety is a healthy part of our lives. We live in a fast-paced world that is ever changing and some level of anxiety can help us take action, defend ourselves, and even access resources. So take a deep breath, it’s not all in your head and sometimes anxiety does match our current life context. That being said, what once was small and manageable may have snow balled as your life transitioned. You left school, started a new job, maybe started or ended a relationship, or made a big move. Any of these big life transitions can cause our anxiety to spike and start feeling more generalized. What once was helpful, may be getting in the way of us enjoying day to day activities, being present with people we love, sleeping, and focusing at work. I’m here to tell you that there are ways to work with our body and our minds to befriend these anxious parts and get back to enjoying life without overriding our body’s natural stress response system. You’ve got this, and you’re not alone. Book a consult to learn more about how I can help.

How I can Help

Support for anxiety is usually a combination of tools. You can expect a combination of psychoeducation (just a fancy word for putting language to what is happening), physical practices to support the body’s natural desire to regulate stress, and most importantly mapping out your internal system that have led to these anxious parts taking the lead. Through primarily working through the lens of IFS (Internal Family Systems) we will work together to learn new ways of being while also acknowledging the important role these parts played in keeping us safe at one point.
